"Roaming the skies" project provides a wireless telecommunications system on board the aircrafts. A substantial effort has been made to analyze the needed additions to the existing telecommunications standard equipments, in order to allow connections through satellite links.
The team of the project has accumulated its knowledge on the Alcatel's GSM within the company's project baseline for the first IFTS project (10 people for 3 years) and a well-proven practice, regarding the last developments in IP, GSM/GPRS, WLAN and Bluetooth networks architecture. Expert appraisal on the VoIP processing brings the essential complement to the IFTS project fulfillment.

The Icarelink In-Flight Telecommunication System (IFTS) will allow airline passengers to:
